1854-1855 | The Roland House
The Roland House was built by the prominent New Holland Roland Family. Over several generations of Rolands, the family served as the owner of a grist Mill on the Cocalico Creek, the first Postmaster of New Holland, a hero of the Mexican War, financiers, and the first President of the Board of Directors of the New Holland National Bank.
1915 – 1965 | Wentz Home & Medical Office
The property became the home and medical office of Dr. Henry Wentz and was known as “Old Doc Wentz’s House.” Dr. Wentz’s son Thomas Henry Wentz practiced law in New Holland from the 1940s to the 1980s and was the founder and predecessor of the law firm that now occupies the building.
Since 1996 | Law Offices
The building was converted from a beautiful private residence into well preserved law offices. The law firm that Thomas Henry Wentz started in the 1940’s now resides in Attorney Wentz’s childhood home. Several other attorneys have come and gone over the past 80 years. Now, the Good Law Firm is pleased to make this house its home office.
For more history on this property, see “The Roland House” written by one of its former residents Neil L. Albert in 1985.
